A little about me

I am a business-analyst-turned-UX-professional. In my first career, I stepped out beyond the spreadsheets and talked to people. I took the initiative to identify inefficient processes, research and dissect problems, and design interactive tools to improve colleagues' workflows and quality of life.

This work led me to User Experience ("UX") design, my true vocation. I earned a Professional Diploma in UX research and design, gained real-world experience with pro bono work, and now work as a UX consultant in the public sector. I've worked on DOL’s unemployment insurance program and then SBA’s 7(a) loan program. These programs are complicated and have many policy constraints—sometimes at odds with good user experience—but I’ve enjoyed the added challenge and the opportunity to tackle novel design problems.

In my next role, I want to continue to focus on the user research and problem-solving side of UX. More UX than UI. More of the process and page flows and interaction design (but maybe less of the UI font and pixel-perfect finishings)
